Who we are
dela Cruz & Cruz Law Offices (dCC Law) is the partner law office in the Philippines of the GVA Global Group.
From its first office in Tokyo, GVA has since expanded and established itself as a foremost legal and consulting firm in Southeast Asia. Before becoming a lawyer, I trained to become a priest—and my time in the seminary shaped how I approach law. The Jesuit principle of cura personalis, or caring for the whole person, has influenced how I engage with clients and their legal challenges. What drives me the most is helping them succeed, especially in guiding them through opportunities in the Philippines. I believe in transparency and building trust, both within my team and with clients. Today, my roles as Country Legal of GVA TNY Consulting Philippines and Legal Counsel of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting allow me to continuously grow as a lawyer.

I graduated from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 2009, after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at the University of the Philippines in 2005. I was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2010, and since then, I’ve worked on a wide range of legal matters—having handled cases at the trial courts, the Sandiganbayan, Court of Appeals, and even the Supreme Court. Each case has shaped the way I approach my work, and I’ve learned that practicing law is not just about winning cases—it’s about helping people navigate complex challenges with confidence and integrity. That’s what keeps me motivated every day.
Jose Lorenzo Sereno

I’m currently the Country Legal Head for a Swiss multinational pharmaceutical company, overseeing commercial matters, contract negotiation, international law, data privacy, and cross-border issues. My experience spans pharmaceutical compliance, intellectual property, government procurement, and both local and international arbitration. Before my corporate roles, I was lead associate at Follosco Morallos and Herce, and worked at the Office of the Chief Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on providing practical, ethical solutions to complex legal challenges.
Michael Tiu, Jr.

I hold a Juris Doctor degree (Dean’s Medal) from the University of the Philippines, where I also earned my BA in Political Science and graduated cum laude. Having ranked 8th in the 2013 bar exams, I began my legal career as an associate at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, and later joined Leynes Lozada-Marquez Law Offices. In those firms, I learned how to handle corporate transactions and represented clients in various legal matters.
